The Nissan Sentra Cup Heads to Nova Scotia for Three Exceptional Races!
After launching its 2025 season at the iconic Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Ontario, the Nissan Sentra Cup is set to make history this weekend with its first-ever visit to Atlantic Motorsport Park (AMP). Located in Shubenacadie, just 30 minutes north of Halifax, Nova Scotia, AMP has been a staple of Canadian motorsport since the 1970s, hosting legendary drivers like Gilles Villeneuve, Bill Brack, Richard Spénard, and Jacques Bienvenue.
Carved into a hillside, the 2.575 km (1.6-mile) circuit features two short straights, eleven corners, and seven elevation changes. Its challenging layout makes it a perfect match for the competitive Nissan Sentra racecars. A large crowd is expected to witness what promises to be a thrilling weekend of racing, marking the long-awaited return of a Canadian national road racing series to the Maritimes.
In another first for the series, the weekend will feature not two, but three races—each awarding double points. With the championship battle already heating up, a strong performance at AMP could prove pivotal in the race for the 2025 title.
Simon Vincent and Valérie Limoges, who each claimed a win at the season opener in May, are among the favourites heading into this new challenge. Vincent, currently leading the championship, is aiming to make history as the first driver to win both rally and circuit racing titles in the same year. Limoges, a two-time series champion, is determined to keep the pressure on, as is fellow contender Nicolas Barrette.
Also looking to make a statement is Nicolas Lévesque, who was disqualified from a win earlier this season due to a technical infraction. He’ll be seeking redemption and his first official victory at AMP. A former Micra Class champion, Lévesque has quickly established himself as a rising star in the series.
All registered 2025 Nissan Sentra Cup drivers are expected to compete, including several promising rookies. Among them is Marc-André D’Amour, who impressed at the season opener and currently sits third in the standings. Rounding out the top six are Raphaël St-Pierre and Steve Poulin—who also owns the Nissan Thetford dealership.
The action-packed weekend kicks off on Friday, June 20, with five on-track sessions dedicated to practice. Saturday begins with a 20-minute qualifying session at 10:15 a.m. (Maritime time), followed by the first race at 1:00 p.m. and the second at 4:15 p.m. Sunday’s schedule includes a 10-minute warm-up and the final race at 10:30 a.m.
